Bluetooth Technology

Bluetooth technology enables computers, phones, handhelds, and peripherals to communicate with one another without cables. Bluetooth technology is not meant to replace wireless networks but to complement it.

If you want to go truly hands-free, you'll need a Bluetooth -enabled cell phone. Bluetooth certainly has gained momentum in the last few years.

Bluetooth technology is an industry wireless specification standard for use in various devices for short-range communications.  As a radio-based technology it allows devices to share information over a maximum range of 10 meters.  bluetooth enables mobile computers, mobile phones, portable handhelds, and the Internet to “talk the talk” without cables.  

Bluetooth enabled devices give the user more flexibility, security, reduced power consumption, and becoming affordable for everyone – bluetooth technology.

When no other means of connecting to the internet is available, mobile workers can use their blue tooth enabled cell phone as a modem.

An advantage to using blue tooth is your phone can remain in your laptop carrying case or pocket and blue tooth does not require direct line of sight connection.
If your laptop is not already blue tooth enabled, you can purchase a USB blue tooth adapter.

With bluetooth, devices don't need to be 'looking' at each unlike other wireless technologies (i.e. infrared). As long as two bluetooth devices are close enough to each other, it’s possible to make a connection.  With bluetooth technology getting connected takes on a whole new meaning.
